Functional Indications
Selectively excite the uterus and enhance the contraction of uterine smooth muscle. The stimulating effect on uterine smooth muscle varies depending on the dosage and hormone levels in the body. Low doses can increase the rhythmic contractions of uterine muscles in late pregnancy, with even contractions and relaxations; High doses can cause rigid contractions of uterine smooth muscle, compressing the blood vessels within the uterine muscle layer and exerting hemostatic effects. Promote the contraction of myoepithelial cells around mammary gland acini and ducts, and promote milk excretion.
Clinically used for: induction of labor, postpartum uterine hemostasis, and retained placenta.
Usage And Dosage
Subcutaneous and intramuscular injection: One dose, 3-10ml for horses and cows; 1-5ml for sheep and pigs; 0.2-1ml for dogs.
